Hub 1

Hub 1 is based in the North East and is Lead by Joe Bradbury and Andy Grey at the North Tyneside Learning Trust

Joe is an experienced primary teacher, having spent 17 years in the classroom across all key stages within the primary phase. Joe balanced his role as an assistant principal with spear-heading improvement of a stale science curriculum across the 4 schools of the MAT that he worked for, winning national awards in the process. This led to Joe becoming a senior facilitator for STEM Learning and leading the primary science hub of the Greater Manchester SLP, quickly transforming it to a high performing hub within a year. Since October 2020, Joe has led the Northumberland and Tyne and Wear SLP situated at the North Tyneside Learning Trust in North Shields. Although still a Greater Manchester resident, Joe is leading the SLP remotely, working hard to build relationships with other hubs and providers in the North East. Together we’re stronger. No stranger to the region, Joe spent four wonderful years in Durham, completing his degree in Cell Biology in 2000 and has a special fondness for the North East as a result.

Andy is a science teacher with more than 20 years experience in the classroom. He was a science teacher at Whitley Bay High School from 2001 to 2017. During most of that time he was Head of Chemistry and laterly Science. Since leaving he has worked in the science departments of several schools supporting the delivery of science and effective curriculum planning. He is a CPD Mark Lead Facilitator and works for AQA as a Team leader for A level and GCSE Chemistry and a CPAC assessor. He is the PGCE Chemistry Tutor at Newcastle University and regularly works as a STEM Ambassador delivering talks on the wonders of Space to Primary and Secondary students. He has been involved with the Leadership Lite programme Since Summer 2019.
